Imagine that you could talk to yourself in a couple of years...

That is what 'The Real Aigars' is all about, emulating that conversation between my ideal self and me now, publicly.

Let's look at my story.

Chubby, cute little boy with eyes open widely and literally burning curiosity inside.

I was a happy kid - so I thought then, now I realize that the burden of an atrocious relationship between my parents which eventually resulted in them parting their ways instilled numerous bad coping mechanisms in me. And yes, I still battle them.

That being said - I didn’t have a masculine role model, a man to look up to. Life journey of a little boy without a true leader dad is destined to be chaotic. Mine wasn’t an exception…

My name is Aigars. I'm 25. This is me 20 years ago.

I grew into a fat, undisciplined, rebellious teen who couldn’t deal with his emotions and resorted to all the guilty pleasures there are. Emotional eating, pornography, alcohol, drugs, gaming - I’ve done it all.

The funny thing here is that I always knew how bad these things are to me yet they offered something I longed for - escaping reality.

I felt sad, lonely. My biggest achievement was not passing out at the party. Life was a never ending loop of distractions. I spent most of my time chasing low class pleasures with people who did the same. Until age 20 I never had a proper goal, each day was spent on autopilot. Discipline was a myth I had no intention of believing.

So... have things changed?

Thank God they have.

I found a way out through a series of turmoils, battles with my self, guidance of others and immense support from my wife.

Now, I'm on my way to a different man - The Real Aigars

This is me now, yes I lost hair along the way... :(

Married, in decent shape, slowly crawling to my goals with somewhat defined purpose, still work in progress yet far from where I once was.

I share my journey, insights, lessons, things that I spent a lot of time on so you don’t have to and much more through my emails, blogs, X page.
